Cruise Packing List

Packing for a cruise vacation can be a challenge. The only thing you might dread more is unpacking when you get home! Through the years, I have learned that a packing list is essential. Not only for what to pack but what NOT to pack!

A good tip -- If traveling with a companion or spouse, divide your checked Item’s into two (or more) suitcases. That way, if one is lost, you will both have some clothing to wear!  Also, be sure to carry-on anything that you cannot live without for a couple of days and one change of clothing, just in case your luggage is lost or delayed. Feel free to use the list below as a starter and modify it for your personal needs.

  • Cruise documents
  • Passports
  • Wallet and fanny pack or back pack
  • Medical insurance cards and medical history (especially if traveling alone)

  • ATM card
  • Pre-paid phone card

Don't Pack More Than You Need! Remember you will probably want to buy a new dress or T shirt, so that will give you a more to wear while you are there. Consider where you are traveling to, is it a tropical climate? The evenings can be a little cool on the cruise ships so a sweater would be good to bring but don’t bring one to match each outfit.  Be frugal when you pack. Not only will it lighten your load but it will leave room for all the souvenir’s you will be buying for yourself and others.
